I received the opportunity to bring Gabby and her friends to Funset Blvd. in Appleton for the celebration of a year of Destination Imagination. This is something I wouldn’t pass up as it would be something I’d be excited for when I was a kid. Even though I feel I have a moved on from this phase in my life, all the sounds and smells of the arcade helped me remember how much fun I had in places like this in the the 80’s.

Donnie trying out his first arcade game for the day. I thought this was an interesting choice, with the translucent, red dome to capture the sound for the player. I wonder what Donnie heard.
It is hard to capture bumper cars in low light without a flash, but this is the best I could do.
Donnie was a good sport, posing for a “scared of Jaws” photo. I’m sure he’s not seen Jaws, but I think he played the role of victim naturally.
Running from a rolling boulder totally inspired Donnie to be part of the program for this Hollywood-themed photoshoot in the mini-golf course.

One of my favorite games as a child was Galaga. Here is my tribute to those days.
I find these old arcade cabinet marquees beautiful.
I was glad the teenagers got outside for a bit today.
On Sunday we had a chance to enjoy the nice weather and head to Baird Creek with Elias. We found some fiddlehead ferns to harvest and bring home to grill up. I found a couple skulls of squirrels for my collection. As it usually is in Spring, the creek was flowing strong and made for a good test for our rubber boots.
